OXFORD Yvonne H. (Spikings) Huekell, 81, of Park St., died Sun., Oct. 16, 2005, in the Life Care Center of Auburn. She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Robert A. Huekell of Oxford, who died in 1988.

She is survived by two children, Danielle L. Morrow and her husband William of Douglas, and Paul F. Huekell and his wife Dana of Natick; four grandchildren, Jennifer Morrow of Worcester, Kevin Morrow of Oxford, Lewis Huekell and Sarah Huekell, both of Natick; and one great grandson, Nigel R. Morrow-Anderson of Worcester. She was born in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Daniel and LaVern (Kleist) Spikings, and lived in Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA, and Buffalo, NY, before moving to Oxford in 1960.

Mrs. Huekell was a housekeeper at Sunbridge-Sandalwood Nursing Home in Oxford for 5 years, retiring several years ago. Previously, she was a veterinary assistant for Dr. Busch in Thompson, CT. She also worked at T.J. Maxx in Auburn and the Fair in Worcester. She was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford and was active at the Oxford Senior Center. Mrs. Huekell was past president of the local chapter of the A.A.R.P. and a member of the Oxford Woman’s Club. She loved gardening, and was especially fond of horses and her dogs.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be at a later date in North Cemetery, Oxford. A calling hour will be Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dog Orphans, P.O. Box 767, Douglas, MA 01516, or to St. Joseph Indian School, Chamberlain, SD 57326.
